5 Year Mission

It's been a while since I've written on a blog, I just haven't had the time recently, but I thought that now it might be a good idea to start one again to help me keep everyone updated on what's going on in my life. As some of you know I moved to Portland this weekend. I'm going to Portland Community College and have three awesome roommates. I am studying to get an Associates in American Sign Language Interpreting and a Certificate in Non-Profit Business. I am currently finishing up a Certificate in Christian Ministry from Pacific Bible College based in Medford. Yes, that's a lot, but it is all working toward a common goal. I have many things that I want to get involved with and many things that having these three degrees will help with. As time goes on and dreams start looking like realities or if they need extra pray I will mention them, describe them. I'm excited about the next several years as I learn to navigate a big city, learn a language better, make new friends, and continue to move in the direction that the Lord has for me.

My fishes and I are comfortably situated in Beaverton, Oregon, they fared better then I thought they would although they did give me a brief scare right after we got to my house. But after getting them some fishy stuff they were extra perky this morning. Some of you know that I have become sorta obsessed with Star Trek over the last year, which played a role in my naming of my fishes. Their names are Spock, Neelix and Captain Picard. That obsession also played a role in my choice in name for this blog. I'm starting to ramble so I'll catch you next time.

  2. Okay ... I'll try again. Push the wrong key and boink I lose everything I write.
Anyway, my niece Jeannette came down to get vegetables and see me this past weekend. Jeannette is 56 years old and has been deaf almost her entire life.`Maybe some day I'll introduce you to her since you are studying ASL. My ASL is poor .. I know maybe 500 signs and finger spell slowly.
